Alabama football is adding Jake Vang to its coaching staff, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz. Vang is expected to serve as a defensive analyst for the Crimson Tide under Alabama’s defensive coordinator Kane Wommack.
The Wildcats of Central Washington were expected to enter their first season with Vang as their defensive coordinator in the fall. He coached edge rushers at Sacramento State in 2025. Multiple members of the group he coached ended the year with more than eight tackles for loss.

Before coaching at Sacramento State, Vang worked as an analyst at Colorado State.
