WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita State Shockers downed Wyoming 74-70 in the opening round of the National Invitation Tournament.
The Shockers (23-11), the No. 3 seed in the Tulsa region, advance to the second round and will face Oklahoma State on March 21 or 22.
It is the seventh consecutive season (not including 2020 covid season) that an American Conference team has won an NIT game.
T.J Williams came off the bench to post his second double-double of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Kenyon Giles scored 15 points, and Emmanuel Okorafor was just shy of a double-double, tallying nine points and 12 rebounds.
