EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Fifth-seeded Arkansas-Little Rock overcame a 17-point first-half deficit, but went cold shooting down the stretch and saw its season end as No. 8 seed Southeast Missouri State escaped with a 68-65 victory Wednesday afternoon in the opening game of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.
The Trojans made a furious third quarter rally to erase the Redhawks' 38-23 halftime lead, but they struggled late in the contest and didn't make a field goal over the final 5:01.
"We spent so much effort and energy to get back in the game in that third quarter," UALR assistant coach Bobby Brasel said.
