FAYETTEVILLE — Matt Hobbs is happy with Arkansas’ No. 1 starter Gabe Gaeckle, but the Razorbacks’ eighth-year pitching coach is not shy about wanting to see more from his staff ace.
Gaeckle, the junior right-hander, will make his fourth start of the season Friday when the ninth-ranked Razorbacks (10-3) host Stetson (5-8) at Baum-Walker Stadium. With thunderstorms in the forecast Friday night, first pitch has been moved ahead by five hours to 1 p.m.
Gaeckle (1-1, 3.68 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) struggled to keep the bases clear during his start against Texas-Arlington last Friday and Arkansas lost 4-3.
