FAYETTEVILLE — Back in the sun, the big bats boomed for the Arkansas Razorbacks again Friday.
Scrimmaging outdoors for the first time in three weeks, the Razorbacks blasted five home runs, including a titanic 479-foot shot by Kuhio Aloy, and the Cardinal defeated the Black squad 7-5 at Baum-Walker Stadium.
Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said the pitchers had been dominant inside the Fowler Center through the frigid interim since the Hogs’ initial preseason scrimmage Jan. 16.
With the temperatures reaching into the high 60s and the wind blowing out, the conditions were right for Baum-Walker Stadium to become a launching pad in the 5 1/2 inning affair.
