FAYETTEVILLE — Jersey patches are coming to the NCAA.
The NCAA Division I Cabinet approved a proposal Friday that will allow teams to wear up to two commercial logos on their uniforms and one commercial logo on equipment such as a helmet during regular-season games. A third commercial logo will be permitted on the uniform for conference championship events.
The size of the patches cannot exceed 4 square inches per logo. The rule change will take effect Aug. 1, meaning logos will not be on jerseys until the 2026-27 school year.
In an interview with Sports Business Journal prior to the vote, Arkansas athletics director Hunter Yurachek spoke in favor of allowing jersey patches.
