A 2-out throwing error by shortstop KJ Scobey allowed Ryder Helfrick to score from third base and the game is tied.
Helfrick drew a 1-out walk, took second base on a wild pitch and went to third on Zack Stewart's groundout to end a long, competitive at-bat.
Instead of walking Maika Niu to set up a left-left matchup against Reese Robinett, South Carolina decided to pitch to Niu. He hit a grounder at shortstop and Scobey's throw brought the first baseman off the bag.
Robinett walked after running the count full, then Kuhio Aloy struck out on a diet of sliders to strand a pair of runners.
