FAYETTEVILLE — Saturday’s Wooo Pig Classic meet at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track Center largely served as a tune-up for the Arkansas track and field teams and a training ground for several professionals beginning their seasons.
Four Razorback alumnae who train in Fayetteville with Arkansas women’s coach Chris Johnson competed in the women’s 400 meters, all making their season debuts in the event. Great Britain's Amber Anning was the top finisher with a world-leading time of 50.51 seconds, topping the previous world lead of 51.00 run by Lieke Klaver on Feb. 3.
“I was not really expecting that,” Anning said.
