Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix said it "seems like a foregone conclusion" that Jayson Tatum will play this season for the Boston Celtics. He noted how well Tatum has looked working through movements on his right leg. One of the things Brad Stevens previously said the team wants is for Tatum to feel confident enough to return, and it feels like that's where things are trending, though there's still no return date.
Mannix also noted that he had previously spoken with Evan Turner, who is close to Tatum. Turner pointed out that the star's birthday is on March 3 and that Tatum likes to give himself a nice birthday present.
