BOWLING GREEN — In four games against Big Ten opponents this season, the Bowling Green State University hockey team finished unbeaten on its official record with one win and three ties in home-and-home series against Ohio State and Notre Dame.
For BGSU coach Dennis Williams, those contests not only reflected respectable team outings but a potential building point for the program.
“For Bowling Green as a whole, when I came in last year, our whole goal was to continue to see improvement week in and week out,” Williams said. “[Last year’s team], they won in the first round of the [Mason Cup Playoffs] last year, so we got to deliver them something that they hadn’t had in their three years.
