Seiya Suzuki’s injury status has been up in the air since he got hurt on Saturday in the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals. He underwent an MRI after returning to Cubs camp, with the team uncertain about how severe the injury was or how much time he would miss.
As first reported by Bruce Levine, the MRI revealed a sprain to Suzuki’s PCL. I’m not a doctor, but according to my research (Google), the PCL is the posterior cruciate ligament, “a major ligament in the knee that connects the femur to the tibia.”
