So Team USA defeated Team Dominican Republic last night, but it was not without controversy. It would seem most folks agree they’ll implement ABS challenges in the next WBC in 2029, and while I don’t know this for sure, I’m guessing they didn’t do WBC because a lot of the qualifying countries don’t have the technology set up in their facilities and at least one of the venues (San Juan) probably didn’t have it. Doesn’t explain why they didn’t do it in Houston and Miami for the knockout round, but whatever. The winner of tonight’s game between Italy and Venezuela will face Team USA, and given the performance of both of those teams, it’s hard to know who will come out on top.
