Clemson head coach Brad Brownell gave an update on forward Carter Welling, who was injured with 1:59 remaining in the first half of the Tigers’ 71-62 victory over Wake Forest Wednesday in the second round of the ACC Tournament at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C.
Welling was driving the basketball to his right, when his right knee gave out and sent him tumbling to the ground in pain. Replays showed that his knee just buckled as he attempted to go up for the basket.
The 6-foot-11, junior from Utah was carried off the court and reappeared new the end of the game wearing a knee brace on his right leg while using crutches to walk.
