TAMPA, Fla. — For a second a straight year, Clemson had an early exist in the NCAA Tournament. This time, it came at the hands of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Again, it was the Tigers in ability to make baskets that ended their season, as No. 9 Iowa downed the No. 8 seed Tigers 67-60 in the South Regional of the NCAA Tournament at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa.
Clemson opened the game by missing almost everything, while the Hawkeyes came out to build an early and never trailed. Iowa was led by Kael Combs’ 15 points, while All-Big Ten guard Bennett Stirtz added 14.
