After the first scrimmage of the spring on Wednesday, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney confirmed that wide receiver Tristan Smith is out with an injury.
As previously reported by The Clemson Insider, Smith was injured in practice last week, suffering a high ankle sprain.
“He had to have tightrope surgery,” the head coach said. “He has already had it.”
Smith is in the process of trying to get an extra year of eligibility. He spent the first two years of his career playing at the JUCO level before moving to FBS school, Southeast Missouri State.
