Phil Jagielka rued the manner in which Everton “shot ourselves in the foot” at Leicester – and admitted the Toffees “need to find a way to win”.
Everton’s 2-0 defeat against Claude Puel’s team represented a sixth Premier League loss this season and left the Blues’ 18th in the table.
Jamie Vardy opened the scoring for the hosts after a rapid 18th-minute counter attack, which saw the Blues fail to halt Demarai Gray’s run from deep in his own half before the attacker fed Riyad Mahrez to cross for Vardy to finish.
Gray added the Foxes’ second in bizarre circumstances 11 minutes later, when the England Under-21 international delivered from the left and saw Toffees right-back Jonjoe Kenny slice his attempted clearance to send the ball careering past Jordan Pickford.
