A community planting event has taken place in Stanley Park.

Stanley Park CIC, Everton Football Club, Liverpool Football Club, Living Landscapes and Carillion with pupils from Pinehurst Primary School planted six cherry blossom trees in the Grade II listed park.

The project follows the planting of Cherry Blossom Trees in the Spring by Carillion and Stanley Park CIC.

Sarah Atherton, Everton FC Neighbourhood Manager, said: “As an organisation, we take great pride in our Neighbourhood and local Community and always like to support where we can. We teamed up with Carillion and LFC over the past few months to plant new trees in our local park, it's important we give something back to our beautiful community, especially by supporting the Social Enterprise in Stanley Park.
