Sam Allardyce is reportedly on the verge of being appointed as Everton's new manager.
It is understood Everton have held talks with representatives of the former England manager and reports on Tuesday night claimed those had progressed positively and he could be unveiled as Ronald Koeman's permanent successor before Wednesday evening's Premier League match at home to West Ham.
Caretaker boss David Unsworth suggested on Tuesday that his time in temporary charge was coming to an end when he revealed talks were "ongoing" between the club and "a few people".
As well as Allardyce, who had publicly ruled himself out of the running just under two weeks ago, Shakhtar Donetsk coach Paulo Fonseca and Republic of Ireland boss Martin O'Neill have been linked with the role.
