ST. LOUIS – Indiana State guard Tamara Lee was named the Missouri Valley Conference's Newcomer of the Week after averaging 14.5 points in a pair of close games including an overtime win at Valparaiso.
Lee shot an impressive 53.8 percent from three-point range and averaged 14.5 points per game as she helped Indiana State rally from behind for a win at Valpo and nearly did the same at Loyola. Lee shot 42 percent overall over the weekend, dished out five assists and grabbed three steals while averaging 4.0 rebounds per game.
This is the second Newcomer of the Week award Lee has claimed this season.
