Like jumping into a pool off the high-dive, Deone Walker made a big splash during his first season of professional football.
The former Kentucky defensive lineman was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team by the Pro Football Writers of America. Walker started in 16 of 17 games for the Buffalo Bills as an anchor of the interior defensive line. He made 39 total tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, and one sack. Walker added four passes defended, four quarterback hits, and a forced fumble.
Walker was a game-wrecker in the playoffs. He had six tackles, a pair of pass deflections, and picked off his first career pass.
