One of Kentucky’s own will not be brought back as head coach at Tennessee Tech, John Pelphrey fired after seven seasons in Cookeville, the program announced on Tuesday.
Hired back in 2019, the Unforgettable led the Golden Eagles to a 79-138 overall record with only one season above .500 in the Ohio Valley (11-7, 2022-23).
“We thank John for his service and commitment to our men’s basketball program. We felt it was the right time for a leadership change and a refocus for the men’s basketball program. We wish John and his family the best moving forward,” Tennessee Tech AD Casey Fox announced.
