The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned right-hander Kyle Hurt to Triple-A on Wednesday, ending his chances of making the Opening Day roster.

Hurt, 27, has limited MLB experience, but has managed solid numbers across four appearances in the big leagues. He’s pitched 8.2 MLB innings, and has allowed just one earned run throughout while striking out six.

The former fifth-round pick spent most of the 2025 season sidelined after undergoing Tommy John surgery, but had a decent showing during his rehab assignment in Triple-A. Through seven games, he had a 1.93 ERA and struck out 10 batters in 9.
