Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith is on the verge of making history with Team USA, as they’re just one win away from the WBC title
Team USA hasn’t won the WBC since 2017, which marked the first time they had won the tournament. Two of the three favorite teams — Japan and the Dominican Republic — are eliminated, with the USA remaining as a heavy favorite.
Smith took over as the starting catcher for AL MVP runner-up Cal Raleigh in the semifinal against the Dominican Republic, and has started in two of their last three matches.
