Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts took up Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s workout routine this spring, and he’s already seeing the effects.
Betts has worked with Yamamoto and his trainer Osamu Yada all spring, and he’s taken up new stretches, workouts like throwing javelins and even carrying Yada on his shoulders. Despite the odd nature of these exercises, Betts couldn’t be happier.
“They definitely changed my perspective, changed my life, my game,” Betts said.
As far as why he picked up the regiment, Betts’ reasoning was rather straightforward: If Yamamoto’s so good, he’s doing something right.
