Los Angeles Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts said starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto will return to Arizona after his WBC quarterfinal start.
The outing will be Yamamoto’s second in the WBC, and will come against Team Venezuela. Venezuela finished second in Pool D after a narrow loss to the Dominican Republic on Wednesday evening. Yamamoto’s previous start came against Chinese Taipei, where he pitched 2.2 innings and struck out two batters.
Japan won all four of their pool play games in this year’s tournament, topping Group C and receiving the more favorable draw.
