MONROE, La. – ULM’s three runs in the bottom of the ninth were not enough in a 7-3 loss to Georgia State on Friday night.
Singles by Jacob Stockton and Danny Springer and a walk to Brian Barefoot loaded the bases with one out in ULM’s final at-bat. Cody Stone laced an opposite-field double down the left field line to get the home team on the board, and Josh Faciane stepped up to the plate before driving in Springer on a sacrifice fly to right center.
The Warhawks (13-21, 5-8 Sun Belt) threatened first as they put runners on the corners but the pair were left stranded in the home half of the first.
