The milestone triumph, a comprehensive win in the club’s first-ever UEFA Women’s Champions League knockout tie, was arguably one of the Reds’ finest in 231 fixtures to date.
Elisabeth Terland, Melvine Malard and Julia Zigiotti got the goals in Spain, to give us a strong advantage heading into the second leg of our knockout play-off tie.
United have now won each of our last six games and eight of the last nine, a run which has featured outings in four different competitions.
That’s taken our tally for this season up to 20 victories from 29 total matches across the Barclays Women’s Super League, Adobe Women’s FA Cup, Subway Women’s League Cup and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
