In a game that was really about a lot more than just basketball, Marquette women’s hoops prevailed over Georgetown on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 72-40. Marquette is now 8-2 on the year and 4-1 in Big East play, while the Hoyas have dropped to 1-4 both in league and overall.
There’s no reason to dive too deep into the wheres and whatfors of what happened in this game. Marquette started out on an 8-0 run that was halted by a timeout from GU head coach James Howard as he was presumably terribly tired already of watching MU attempt to baseline jumper his team into submission.
