The Patriots have signed offensive tackle James Hudson, according to a news release from the team.
Hudson, who is entering his sixth NFL season, was released by the Giants earlier this month. The 6-foot-5, 313-pound lineman has played in 60 games with 19 career starts, 14 of which came at right tackle. The other five were at left tackle.
The move adds depth at the tackle spot for the Patriots.
Starters Will Campbell and Morgan Moses are under contract. Vederian Lowe, who filled in for Campbell at left tackle while the rookie was dealing with an MCL sprain, signed with the 49ers.
