When the Magic play without Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs, it’s up to others inside the Orlando locker room to help replace the duo’s efforts not only on the offensive end of the floor but also the defensive end.
During the team’s four-game trip out west — of which Wagner (left high ankle sprain injury management) and Suggs (back strain) missed three games — Banchero was tasked at times with the defending the opposing team’s top player.
Against the Clippers that included six-time All-NBA forward Kawhi Leonard, and against the Lakers, five-time All-NBA guard Luka Doncic.
