GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The third varsity eight for Portland Pilots rowing earned the first win of the year at the Sacramento State Invitational, with the rest of the Pilot boats all putting up solid performances.
"This was a solid start to spring racing for us," Portland head coach Gulliver Scott said. "Overall, we have a young team and we learned a lot today. It was great to see our crews successfully execute the elements of racing that we've been working on."
The third varsity eight won their 2000m race with a time of 7:32.3. Emma Hanson was the coxswain for Portland and Megan Eckels the stroke.
