Virginia Tech assistant is a surprise name being floated for current ACC opening

Just hours after the Boston College women's basketball season ended on Sunday with a loss to Syracuse, the school announced a change in leadership after letting head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee go. Her contract was up, and it was not be renewed.

It doesn't come as a surprise, as the Eagles were 5-26 this year, and it is going to be another year where they miss the NCAA Tournament. However, along with Pittsburgh and SMU, BC is the third team missing the ACC Tournament this week in Duluth, Georgia.

After seven seasons in Chestnut Hill, Bernabei-McNamee is out, and according to the press release from Boston College, they will begin a national search to find the next head coach.
