GREENVILLE, N.C. – Wichita State women's basketball downed the No. 2 team in the American Conference, picking up its first road win of the season with a 63-54 victory over East Carolina Tuesday evening in Minges Coliseum.
The Shockers (5-16, 2-6 American) turned in one of their most complete efforts of the season, using a dominant fourth quarter and a strong interior presence to secure their first win over the Pirates (15-7, 7-2 American) since 2022. Wichita State outscored the Pirates 16-8 in the final 10 minutes and held ECU to just 20 percent shooting in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
